We are looking for a treasurer to join our trustee board.
The Treasurer is a member of the Trustee Board and so contributes to the Board’s duties of governance of CACE. The key responsibility of the role is to ensure that the finances and supporting financial controls of the branch are in order, and that year-end accounts are submitted in compliance with Charity Commission requirements. Day-to-day financial accounting is the responsibility of CACE management and staff.
Candidates should have some financial qualifications or experience, and ideally an understanding of charity finances. They must have the skills to examine the financial implications of strategic proposals and to advise the Board on financial matters.
The Board meets every two months, on Wednesday evenings, in Carlisle or Penrith. Finance sub-committee meetings take place quarterly, at times and in locations to suit members.
The overall time commitment for the Treasurer might average around 1-1.5 days per month, however this is flexible and will vary depending on the time of year.
