Universal Credit Campaign: Response from John Stevenson MP
Our Carlisle office wrote to John Stevenson MP on 25/09/17 to raise our concerns with the roll-out of Universal Credit.
We told Mr. Stevenson that we would like the Government to pause Universal Credit roll-out and fix these problems so that:
● No one is left waiting longer than 6 weeks for an income.
● Those who need it get a payment within 2 weeks, which they do not need to pay back.
● People have access to a minimum standard of support to help them adapt to Universal Credit, which is published.
We asked Mr. Stevenson to raise our concerns with the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
We have now received a response from Mr. Stevenson, but await confirmation that our concerns were raised with the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
We will raise this concerns further with Mr. Stevenson
We have uploaded Mr. Stevenson’s reply below.
